Red River & Gulf Locomotive 400 Baldwin 4-6-0 sits in the same spot as she sat on Dec 9th, 1952 when they let her fire die for the last time. It was used on the RR&G and also the Crowley Lumber Company in Long Leaf, LA. now the Southern Forest Heritage Museum. Everything was left behind in 1969 when the mill closed forever. Incidentally, as mentioned in the comment section, the bell has been preserved and is located in the company store. many volunteers have taken years in an attempt to preserve what is here for the future, but this locomotive was too far gone decades ago. Another loco #106 was under a shed which kept it in better shape, but still very rough. It would take multi-millions to "restore" a locomotive, unfortunately some people commenting below fail to understand this reality, and instead choose to criticize a group of volunteers because "they don't appreciate it".
