With the news of the Elmore to Kellysville section of the ex-Virginian P-D District being shut down in favor of the lower-grade Guyandot River Branch, the days of 20,000+ horsepower "Hill Runs" across Clark's Gap were numbered this day. Having traveled across the treacherous grades of the Appalachian Mountains from Alloy to Elmore, train U85 is now hard at work crossing over Covel Trestle. Heading up the 2% grade from Elmore to Algonquin, the power will be swapped around for two motors to take the train downhill to Bluefield and points east, while the rest of the motors will be sent back to Elmore Yard for "one more push"
