BLE 839, 830 and SD7 803 pose for a portrait at their Albion, Pa. engine facility in May 1981. Their simplified scheme is virtually identical to Milwaukee Roads SD7 scheme dating back to 1952 or so, although the shade of orange is different. BLE units featured a unique sand box hatch on the nose that kept crews from having to climb to the roof top to fill sand boxes.
