On a coal January day in 2016, two mainline 2-8-2s thunder upgrade with a heavy coal train at Sandaoling. Doubleheaded trains are extremely rare on the Sandaoling Mine Railway however, JS8190's train was overload on this day requiring a helper to start the train. The coal loading point is on a short but steep grade, so JS8225 was called to lend a hand starting the coal train. Soon the ground shook as the two steam giants stormed up the grade. Within a few hundred yards from this photo location, the train would stop and JS8225 would uncouple . With the hardest part over, JS8190 would single-handedly take the train up the remainder of the 4 mile climb out of the opencast pit.
