Three EMD GT26CW-2 (with 60-819 leading) haul an ore train from Bafq towards Yazd, Iran. The line goes around what appears to be a dry lake bed, as you can see in the background. This is where things took a turn for the worse earlier that day: We got our Dacia Logan stuck in the sand (not me driving, even though I'm usually the expert in getting cars stuck...). It took an hour of digging with our bare hands (I mean, why would you take a shovel on a trip to the desert) and working with stones and the car jack to get it back out. But shhh, don't tell our rental agency! And all that despite that the lady at the rental agency told us "You will not have problem!" when I pointed out the flat spare wheel (which we got fixed, but didn't need).
Still, it was a great day photo-wise. And it wouldn't be an adventure if things didn't go wrong sometimes.
