There's no shortage of paint schemes in this photo at the Delaware & Hudson's East Binghamton shops. Beside the predominate Guilford grey/orange, there are units from the Boston & Maine, Maine Central, and Pocono Northeast, as well as patched Burlington Northern and Conrail locos. The one-of-a-kind D&H grey ghost, now a Maine Central asset, in attendance, as well as a GP39-2 still in patched Reading paint almost a dozen years after that road's demise. Curiously, there's not a lightning stripe or solid blue Delaware & Hudson engine in sight at this D&H facility.
Crazy pool power consists, colorful gatherings of locomotives at a diesel service area, or a mixture of colorful locomotives in storage lines. A minimum of four different paint schemes required.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
