The first tree lighting in decades at Buffalo Central Terminal gathers a small crowd on the night of December 10th. The last minute event - publicized on social media - was intended to garner interest and support from the community in regards to reestablishing train service at Buffalo Central.
After a ceiling collapse in September at Buffalo's Exchange Street station, the push for a new train station in Buffalo has reached a fever pitch. Although some advocate for a new downtown station in the Canalside area, others believe restoring Buffalo Central Terminal to its former grandeur is the best option. Most are expecting the final decision on the site of the new station to be determined within the next six months.
