Lake State Railway's Sunday night Flint to Saginaw, Michigan, train FLSG-09 (on CSXT Z12709) is seen heading northbound with 166 cars from the CSXT interchange yard north of Flint. The train is led by LSRC SD40-2s 6305 and 6303 as it heads through rural Birch Run, Michigan, and a rustic barn. The property owner (5th generation farmer) who allowed me here for this photo had many great stories about the Pere Marquette passing through here. Lighting from 4 Alien Bees B1600 flash. ISO 200 with in-camera double exposure for sky.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
