Change is in the air as a westbound VIA train makes its station stop at Brockville, Ontario. A new station track and a new cantilever signal are under construction. Soon Brockville will lose its operational charm as a place where Toronto-Montreal/Ottawa trains are split, or combined in the other direction. When this happens, there will be no more need for the former CP track behind the station where FPA4 6783 is waiting for the nest Ottawa connection. The 1972 station will get a brick siding makeover in 2015, and at some point over the next three decades, the signal bridge will be cut down to be a signal mast as seen in Steve Arnot’s 2016 photo.
