Classic GE & Ringling Bros Memories
Diverging from the single main to main 2 track, a pair of CSX 7500 series C40-8 which is no longer in existence on CSX now a days pull the 4,959ft long Ringling Bros Blue unit train through the small farming town of Stevenson, AL (MP J-112.7 Stevenson) on its long trek to Chattanooga, TN. With SC-Dispatcher bringing all northbound traffic to a grinding halt, CSX P922-28 (Nashville,TN-Chattanooga,TN) can get the massive train carrying performers, animals, and heavy equipment to Norfolk Southern at a proper time, to keep up with the next show schedule. Once the train has arrive into Chattanooga, TN CSX will had the consist over to Norfolk Southern, and the train will make the evening run to Knoxville, TN eventually arriving a day later in Charlotte NC for the next show. Sadly this movement is going to be the thing of the past, as the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will have its drapes close after being in show business for 146 years.
