Seaboard Coast Line power lays over in Winston-Salem, NC. These units came into town via the Winston-Salem Southbound Railway. Jointly owned now by NS and CSX, the 90 mile short line was originally a joint venture between the N&W and ACL. Mile post 0 was at the at-grade crossing of the Southern and the very southern most point on the N&W Shenandoah division on the east side of downtown Winston-Salem. The southern end of the line terminates in Wadesboro, NC where it connects to the CSX. The line was completed in 1910. The units pictured are GP38-2, 2553 former SCL 553 and GP40, 6676, former SCL 1519 nee ACL 1519.
