NS 1072 (Illinois Terminal heritage) led a 60I (sixty-eye) from South Fork to Altoona the previous day, with the train being tied down. 60I is a loaded synthetic gypsum train bound for US Gypsum at Strawberry Ridge, and as such, it takes the Nittany & Bald Eagle Railroad from Tyrone to Lock Haven. A crew was called for 4:30 am, and I caught it just after 7 am on the bridge that marks the beginning of the former PRR Bald Eagle Branch. The old adage was true--the early bird gets the worm.
