Dashing through the snow. Having just crested a relatively steep grade, Conway Scenic 7470's Engineer is backing down the throttle as he guides the MBRRE's annual "Steam in the Snow" excursion out of the woods and toward the highway tunnel at Cook's Crossing. Although this year's trip did not feature much actual falling snow, there was decent snow cover over most of the railroad making for some rather pretty scenes along the way. Although Locomotive 7470 is lettered for Conway Scenic Railroad, you'll note that the overall livery mimics the Canadian National paint scheme, which would be authentic, given the heritage of this engine. It looks much like what the Strasburg Railroad has done with their 2-6-0 #89. On both engines, the red and gold number plate up front still says "Canadian National."
