Villa Grove is a town in Central Illinois known for flooding. As much as it becomes a pain sometimes, there is really nothing our town can control about it. That’s how it has been since the town was founded!
In this shot, the LSB54 local arrives back into town, crossing over the flooded Embarras River. On the head end is UP 1472, an EMD GP40M-2 built in 1969 for the B&O as GP40 number 3707. It has been rebuilt and ran through the hands of several other roads since then.
