By 1984 DWP had finally been relieved of its first diesel fleet, a group of RS-11s bought new to replace steam in the 1950s. The CN/GTW subsidiary was re-equpped with a small fleet of GP38-2s and SD40s. The Geeps were found in regular transfer service from their west Duluth yard to interchanges with connections in downtown, using this trestle to drop off the hillside yard down to water level. This bridge crosses over former NP right of way and use of it ended with the opening of Pokegama Yard south of Superior, WI by then end of the year.
