| With time quickly running out on it's boiler certification, Iowa Interstate QJ steam locomotive 6988 spent the weekend running fire department fundraising excursions for the Oxford and Wilton fire departments. Here, the train is seen crossing the bridge over the Iowa River on it's morning deadhead run to Wilton after spending the night in South Amana. There were at least 30 people shooting the train here from all the possible angles. Had the train come only ten minutes earlier, it would have been mostly obstructed by the shadow of the trees. The railfan gods were certainly looking out for us this morning. |
