Hunter Connection. The track connecting the former Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania Railroads in Newark, New Jersey, called the "Hunter Connection" or "Lehigh Line Connection" carries Raritan Valley Line Trains between Union Station and Newark Penn Station. An unusual event occurred on the morning of Monday, May 16, 2022 as NJ Transit 4519 (Erie Lackawanna Tribute, ALP45-DP, Bombardier) was on the east end of train 5170, allowing for this rare photo of the engine leading down the ramp. The current track was put into service in 1997, replacing a much tighter curve that allowed for far slower speeds. To the left, the Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh Line crosses over the Northeast Corridor Line.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
