All The Way On The CNJ. A fitting end to the 49 plus year career of the last CNJ engineer on NJ TRANSIT's roster, NJTR GP40PH-2 4109 (CNJ Heritage, ex-NJT 4106, née-CNJ 3677, GP40P, 10/1968) was leading on train 5441 for the westbound run from Newark Penn Station on July 20, 2021 while he operated. The train is seen passing Boyd Tower, just a minute from the Raritan Station platform and the end of that train's run as well as the engineer's. Like the engineer, this engine has spent its career on or around the lines of the Central Railroad of New Jersey, migrating to other NJT lines in recent years, and was selected to be repainted to its original paint scheme in honor of NJ Transit's 40th Anniversary in 2019.
