Halloween is only a few days away so what could be better than a ghost-like image of one of CNW's unique semaphores controlling the junction at St. Francis WI. in October of 1984? The approaching train is lined up for CNW's New Line, built to alleviate congestion on the passenger heavy (pre-Amtrak) Old Line that runs close to Lake Michigan. The semaphores here are on borrowed time and would be replaced by more modern signals in 1987.
