It's a busy evening at the west end of CN's yard in Proctor, Minnesota as the E-Lead yard job shoves a cut of cars down the yard lead while three sets of empty ore trains wait to depart north back towards the mines. A crew has just been dropped off the U712 behind DMIR 409 and will be the first to depart. BLE 909 is on another set of cars, awaiting a crew.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
