Operating on a section of track far removed from the Norfolk Southern system, a pair of NS GP38-2's on DU90 take four tank cars west after picking them up from Helena Industries in Des Moines, Iowa. The Des Moines Terminal operation is a carryover from when the Wabash had a line to Des Moines from Moberly, Missouri. While the line was abandoned from Moberly to Moulton, it is largely intact north of there, with the Iowa Southern operating between Moulton and Albia, and the CBQ, now BNSF, operating sections between Albia and Des Moines, which they acquired in favor of their own parallel alignment.
