PTC Would Have Prevented This. MTA LIRR MP15ACs 168 and 157 (EMD, 1977) were at there MTA Metro-North Railroad New Rochelle, New York Station on September 29, 2016 to pick up four M7As, including MNCW 4146. The cars were on their way to the Arch Street Shop in Long Island City, Queens, New York to have PTC installed. With a significant number of cars and locomotives that needed PTC equipment to meet required deadlines, the practice was established to have the electric MU fleets of both Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road worked on at this shop, allowing for this unusual scene during this period of time.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
