BN leased 100 SD60s in 1986. The units were frequently seen on coal trains, although customarily in the company of other Oakway units or BN green SD40-2s and C30-7s. Yet here one of the Oakways leads a set of UP SD40-2s bringing empty hoppers over the summit at Belmont, NE. My guess is that this is a Jeffrey, KS coal train as these outfits loaded on BN near Gillette, WY but had to traverse UP from Northport, NE to their destination, thus the trains had power from both roads although usually just a UP leader for cab signals between Northport and Jeffrey.
