On the afternoon of February 13th, 2024, Staten Island Railway's "De-Icer Train" passes by Clifton station on Staten Island, NY as it completes its round trip on the main line. The De-Icer Train, comprising of a former New York City Transit R22 subway car (SIR RD344) equipped with glycol applicator shoes, sandwiched by two Brookville BL20G locomotives (BMEX 776 & BMEX 777), is dispatched by SIR during icy or snowy conditions to clear the third rail of ice.
