A covered hopper train heads East over the Rockville bridge at dusk with a GE AC44C6M leading. As the sun sets, the Susquehanna River reflects the sky's vibrant orange and red colors. The Rockville Bridge was constructed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, opening in 1902.It remains the longest stone masonry arch railroad viaduct ever built, at 3,820 feet.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
