IC Style On The CONO. The "Blue Ridge Club" (800224) was holding the markers on the Amtrak "City Of New Orleans" (Train 59) on the rainy and misty night of May 5, 2022 as it headed into Chicago Union Station in Chicago, Illinois. The Illinois Central (IC) is of course synonymous with the original "City Of New Orleans" thanks to Arlo Guthrie, and this car wears the IC paint scheme, but only as a result of previous ownership by the Iowa Pacific Holdings. The car was built in 1950 by Pullman-Standard as a slper-buffet-lounge for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad, where it transitioned to Amtrak and was retired into continuous private operation in 1978.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
