New BNSF "Heavies" locomotives are on the point of a Black Thunder Mine, WY to Cordoro, AZ coal train as it crest the 7,200' summit of Palmer Lake, CO. The lake was filled with kayakers and paddle borders enjoying the summer weather of in the mountains. These ET44ACH are BNSF's new six-axle Tier IV locomotives. Unlike the previous four traction motor ES44C4 and ET44C4, these motors have six traction motors. They also weigh 8 tons more (218 tons) than other six axles locomotives.
