Remarks & Notes

A southbound rock train passes the historic McNeil Post Office and Austin White Lime general store. Founded in 1888, Austin White Lime operated for 135 years until its closure on March 31st, 2024. The future of the site is uncertain, but for now the post office remains open, a reminder of a bygone time when McNeil was a company town home to several hundred plant workers.
