The 'pointless arrow' commemoratively painted Amtrak P42DC 156 made a round trip from Albany to Montreal on Saturday, March 19, returning on the southbound Adirondack train 68-20 Sunday, March 20. Train is seen passing the Vermont Rail System's Tub Mountain Yard lead in Whitehall, NY and the former D&H signal masts.
The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
