On the Swiss National Day, 1st of august, the 75 year old double red arrow "Churchill Pfeil" RAe 4/8 # 1021 made a interesting trip on the Gotthard line in search of the myth of the Gotthard, center and origin of Switzerland. On the way back home in the evening, the timeless elegant trainset made a layover in Brunnen to watch the fireworks on the shore of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee). Now the train is waiting on track 2 for the passengers to run back to Zürich.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
