Rio Grande K-37 No. 491 pulls past Consolidation No. 40 at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden on November 21, 2014. No. 491 is a narrow gauge 2-8-2 that was converted from a standard gauge 2-8-0 by the Rio Grande in 1928. Retired by the railroad in the 1960s, it has been recently restored to operation by the museum, and is seen here hauling a “Polar Express” train this holiday season. No. 40 is a 2-8-0 built for Guatemala Railway Co. (later International Railway of Central America), before ending up operating in Colorado on the Georgetown Loop as Georgetown Breckenridge and Leadville Railroad No. 40.
