Electric locomotive of Italian origin (Breda Marelli class E-32), with freight train of FEPASA #50.010 Talca - Alameda (Santiago), arriving to Teno town and waits crossing with TERRASUR passenger service from Santiago. E-32 locomotives were built especially for the railroads of Chile by the Italian consortium "Breda Marelli" in Milan - Italy. They were 34 locomotives in operation in the early 1960s for "FFCC del E". Wonderful machines of 3600 HP. He became known both in Chile and abroad as the "Sophia Loren", for its beautiful curves and Italian origin, in honor of the beautiful and curvy actress. Currently there are only four locomotives operated by FEPASA for cargo transport (E-3208, E-3217, E-3223. E-3227), and one E-32 locomotive (E-3209) operated by EFE (State railways of Chile).
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
