Driving at 60 miles per hour along U.S. Highway 27, pacing this southbound grain train, a fellow rail photographer tells me that I have about five seconds to get a really cool shot at this upcoming field. I immediately grab my camera, point, focus, and snap the shutter. The result turned out surprisingly well, as the photo above shows.
Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
