The only green Re 4/4 II of the passenger division, # 11161, leaving the Artoito tunnel in the Monte Piottino gorge on the southern Gotthard ramp. The locomotive was used this day to lead the RAe TEE II # 1053 over the sections Brunnen-Erstfeld and Bodio-Bellinzona and contrariwise, where the ETCS L2 train protection system is needed (which the TEE not has). Over this sections, the Re 4/4 II was coupled in front of the TEE with a special emergency coupler, here she is running lonely about 6 minutes ahead of the RAe TEE II.
