After shooting my previous photo of four Delaware & Hudson GP39-2’s getting their air after doubling in Allentown Yard, I worked my way down the riverbank for a different perspective. The broadside view shows the symmetry of the lashup, but close examination yields three different variations of the way they were patched. Lead unit 7403 has a D&H shield on the side of its cab, trailing units 7412 and 7420 have “D & H” lettered over the blacked-out Reading diamond, and the fourth GP39-2 has a script D&H on its cab side.
