The Arrow III EMUs (electric multiple units) were built in 1977 and 1978 by General Electric, and were initially assigned to operate on former Penn Central electrified lines. Today, the Arrow IIIs are still fairly common to see operating of the NJCL, a former Penn Central electrified line. Here is an eight-unit Arrow III set rolling north over the Raritan River from South Amboy to Perth Amboy. Also visible on the far left is Great Beds Light, a sparkplug lighthouse built in 1880.
