Catching a glimpse of the futures past on the Winchester and Western. These old warriors days are numbered as the WW is looking to upgrade it's road power to 38s and 40-2s. At John Street in Martinsburg, WV on April 30, 2018, train 88 is seen returning light from the CSX interchange after switching the Argos quarry south of town with classic EMD power. GP9 WW 459 was built in July of 1955 for the Norfolk and Western. GP10's 575 and 572 were both built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in late 1959. As of this writing, GP9 811 and GP10 732 in the New Jersey Division have been sold to the Black River & Western.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
