Remarks & Notes
From the side you can appreciate the ingenuity that went into creating the 'Galloping Goose' powered mover. Different car bodies were used depending on the unit and Rio Grande Southern No. 7 was built using a 1926 Pierce Arrow limo body. The 'Goose' ran passenger and freight service in southwest Colorado in the 1930's. The museum has three geese, including Rio Grande Southern No. 2 (which is the oldest having been built in 1931) and Rio Grande Southern No. 6 which was built in 1934.
