A couple of ex-Cons. Having just passed the Harpers Ferry station in West Virginia, CSX Q415 is crossing the Potomac River into Maryland on the afternoon of October 16, 2016. Leading unit 8746 (SD60I) and 8783 (SD60M) were both born as Conrail engines, ultimately making their way to CSX after the acquisition and split of the railroad. The storage of the last active SD60M occurred within the past week, spelling the end (at least for now) of both classes on CSX. While both engines have since been removed from CSX's for active roster, 8783 will live on in the hearts and home of model railroaders as Lionel produced this unit for its O scale legacy line.
