Vulcan Turbo. The final chapter of the "Multi-Purpose 15" book was written by the MP15T. A descendent of the SW1500, SW1504, MP15DC and later MP15AC, this model was mechanically distinctive for using a turbocharged 8-cylinder EMD 645 engine instead of the non-turbocharged 12-cylinder version. PRLX began life as Seaboard Lines 1220 (3/1985, EMD) before coming to CSX. Of the 43 made, 42 went to the Seaboard, and one to Dow Chemical. On the night of Monday, February 1, 2021, it was in employ of Progress Rail Leasing awaiting the next morning's tasks at Vulcan Materials in Kankakee, Illinois.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
