SBB's red double arrow "Churchill-Pfeil" RAe 4/8 # 1021 is on a Christmas Eve round trip from Zurich via Killwangen-Würenlos-Regensdorf-Kloten-Winterthur-Andelfingen-Schaffhausen-Etzwilen-Ossingen-Winterthur-Wallisellen to Zurich HB. The elegant vehicle, built in 1939, is decorated for Advent and Christmas, on the one hand with an LED strip on the edge of the roof and in the lower box area, and on the other hand on the front with a fir branch-Christmas tree ball-candle motif. The "Churchill-Pfeil", which name comes from former british prime minister Sir Winston Churchill, which travelled in it during his visit in Switzerland in 1946, is ready for departure in Winterthur.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
