Those two extra skate antennae are for BNSF's soon-to-be-widespread Electronic Train Management System (ETMS) which eliminates almost all the paperwork the crew would have to carry.

I saw that train at Rochelle. It met with an eastbound Z train with 830 on the point with a great Leslie S3L horn on it.
