You're so right. The elimination of older and more aesthetically appealing signal systems is the Big change in the RR scene this decade. Images such as this help to preserve the character of railroading from an era when each system had its own distinctive signal system - such as Santa Fe's, that you have so inspiringly depicted here. Superb!
