Thanks for all the military locomotives you have posted - really nice. I did a couple of Army Reserve summer tours at the Reserve Affairs Office at Fort Eustis in the 1980's and one project I was given was to find "new" locomotives in the Dept of Defense inventory for Reserve units to train on (I was the only person in that office that knew anything about railfoads). These geeps were the newest I could find and they came to Eustis primarily to be used by Reserve units in their annual training so you are right, they were hardly used to pull trains. The rail operation at Eustis was just a shell of its former self in the 1980's.
