These tankers were among BR's best standard designs. They were well suited to the frequent stops and starts on many lines throughout the UK. Unlike many other such locomotives, these ran equally well in either direction, a big advantage since they had runs that ended at locations where they could not be turned.

Steam 2-6-6-4? That would make it the largest steam locomotive in Europe... Maybe you should remove one of the '6's' ;-)

That's not a 2-6-6-4. Articulated locomotives are exclusively American, and the only railroad that built 2-6-6-4s is the Norfolk & Western.
