Wow- she's looking bad with those rust streaks. Looks like air conditioners were added above the cab roofs in later years. These engines were most impressive in hauling the big Florida trains in the 1970s; that's how I like to remember them.

It's been nice to see some up-to-date photos of this museum. Last time that I was here (quite a few years back) all I had was a cheap little film camera, and none of the photos were much good.

Mechanically sound is a misnomer. Sparkies deteriorate rapidly, and while this E60 is still extant, the likelihood of her ever running again is minimal.
In addition - what part of an electric loco is mechanical?

Well, the Deseret Western E60s seem to be doing well. But they are in a completely different environment from the Northeast Corridor.
