Posted by Bill Edgar on March 18, 2016  I am amazed at the amount of effort Union Pacific went through to build this line. Their original route to Spokane was roundabout, and the engineering on parts of this line, much like neighboring Spokane, Portland & Seattle was spectacular. Sadly, BN elected to abandon the SPS line in favor of the hilly NP line between Pasco and Spokane.
