Train will turn the engine consist somewhere between this point and JD Tower at Hyattsville, MD to get the train control equipped RF&P locomotive in the lead for the trains trip across the RF&P to Richmond.

Good old CSX...single tracked the old B&O main lines in this corridor, and then you wonder why they couldn't keep these trains on schedule and lost all the priority traffic back to the highways.

B&O single tracked the Philadelphia Sub - long before CSX was ever a thought. It was down aboutn 1961 after the B&O ended passenger service to New York at the end of April 1958.

Didn't know that - I guess the B&O surrendered to the PRR in that corridor (no pun intended) for any high priority traffic.

B&O did not have all rail access to Manhattan Island and was at a severe disadvantage against the PRR in the New York passenger business. B&O's New York service was handled in conjunction with the Reading and CNJ North of Philadelphia.
