Agreed, and no diesels will ever look that good again. Even if they brought the Santa Fe name and paint scheme back, today's diesels with all the extra equipment boxes and bulges have too little room left for the big "billboard" style lettering on the flanks, and the "warbonnet" gets chopped up too.
Oh, and unless your date is off, that's nearly two years since the merger - which occurred in September 1995.

Yes, the merger was almost two yrs. old insofar as the financial aspect. Operations were not formally merged until late 1996, I believe. My pictures from that time show AT&SF power slowly migrating onto BN, for example, but in their original paint schemes and road names. The date of the photo is correct, in any event.
