It must have been a longer Super Chief than usual if it needed two 2-10-2s to assist it over Raton Pass. Thank you George for sharing all these gems from Mr. Perry's collection!

They had to conquer 3% grades on Raton pass. Most railroads today encounter at most 2.2%.

No matter what, I see a B&W shot in the preview page and I guess it is from Otto Perry, I am going to open it and I have not been disappointed yet by what you have been posting. He certainly saw some very interesting trains and I am glad you are posting them.
